This piece emerged from one of my darker periods. I was grappling with depression and feeling fragmented within myself. The stark geometric divisions of the face reflect how isolated and compartmentalised that felt, as if different parts of me were disconnected and unable to communicate. I surrounded this central figure with turbulent brushwork in deep blues and silvers, representing the emotional storm I was navigating, while the rigid white lines became a way of trying to contain or make sense of the chaos I was experiencing internally.
